TRY ETCHELLS DAY

Are you interested in sailing an Etchells? This 9m 3 – 4 man open keel boat offers some great one design racing at RQYS. With close racing and a welcoming fleet this long established RQ fleet is providing an opportunity on Saturday 31^st August for anyone keen to experience sailing one to come along to our ‘Try an Etchells Day’. You don’t have to be a high performance athlete or a world class sailor in order to enjoy these great boats.

Whether you want to own and skipper your own boat or crew on one, you are welcome to join us for an opportunity to get to know the boats and some of our fleet members.

The day will give you a chance to experience the different roles on board – helming, main and jib trimming along with spinnaker handling. Sailing experience is required. Depending on the weather and numbers we will also endeavour to run a few short races.

9am | Optional – Join us at 9am, if you would like to assist us for boat launching and rigging

10am | Meet at the Etchells hardstand BBQ tables for briefing at 10am

1pm | Approximate finishing time

What to bring:

• Sailing clothes – you may get a bit wet
• Sailing gloves if you have them but not necessary
• Life jacket if you have one
• Suitable footwear
• Hat, sunscreen etc
• Water bottle
